R-A-U-X-A

2020

ALL DATES

I am starting a new cycle that focuses on a rather archaeological and sonic aspect of movement.
However different they may be, the shows I have created are crossed by a recurring gesture, that of striking, of hammering. For this project, I follow the trace of this gesture as a place of memory, I draw a choreographic engine from it.
In R-A-U-X-A, the body enters into vibration, into resonance and becomes a pulse. I am inspired by an ancient and future memory of gestures and sounds containing hammering, a starting point for entering new physical and temporal dimensions.
I compose a hybrid dance in which the body, light, electro-acoustic and modular music dialogue and put into friction an organic/archaic material and a technological material to build together a sensory landscape and a sound architecture.

MA CULTURE – INTERVIEW

With her new creation R-A-U-X-A, Aina Alegre continues her research on hybridisation and her reflection on the alliances of the body in the post-humanist era. Here there are no “new technologies” or third bionic arms.

CLAIRE ASTIER

DANSER CANAL HISTORIQUE

With R-A-U-X-A, she succeeds in capturing that fundamental, irresistible stratum of human nature that we try to domesticate and that burns beneath the surface. The struggle and complicity between rhythmic regularity and spontaneous eruptions keep the performer’s body in suspense.

THOMAS HAHN

LA TERRASSE

The astonishing Aina Alegre composes a dance that is as raw and archaic as it is delicate, using a high-definition environment.
